IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, April 16 (PNA) -- An official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) here announced on Monday that they are ready for the conduct of the May 13, 2013 mid-term elections.
Provincial Election Supervisor Roy Prule Ediza said they have already completed the training of personnel including those who will handle the operations of the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines.
Ediza said they have trained a total of 399 PCOS technicians, 16 municipal PCOS supervisors and two congressional district PCOS supervisors to render election duties in this province on May 13.
The province of Zamboanga Sibugay comprises of 16 municipalities with a total of 320,710 registered voters as of 2010, according to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB).
Nine of the 16 municipalities fall under the first congressional district while the remaining seven, including this municipality, in the second district.
Ediza said the public school teachers who will serve as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) also finished their trainings and workshops.
"All are just waiting for election day and the 'green light' or go signal for them to perform their duties and responsibilities to make the 2013 polls successful," Ediza said. (Paulnazer T Luntua/Lily O Ramos/Media Ng Bayan)
